Corrie Chumpitazi, Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Emergency Medicine

I am a board certified Pediatrician and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician, Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University and investigator at the Duke Clinical Research Institute. My 20+ year scientific career has focused on pediatric pain and sedation management, readiness/system preparedness, innovation and dissemination, and workforce development. I serve on the National Pediatric Readiness Project Steering Committee, the North Carolina State EMSC advisory committee, and the planning committee for the Patient, Youth, Family, and Community Learning Network. I have served on the EMSC Innovation and Improvement Center executive leadership core since 2018, where I previously co-led the Knowledge Management domain, and serve as a lead for the National Pediatric Readiness Quality Improvement pain (NPRQI) metric. I have participated as site principal investigator (PI) for the pediatric emergency care applied research network (PECARN) and recently co-authored the PECARN Sedation and Analgesia Committees research agendas. In North Carolina we have demonstrated success with a hub and spoke PECC network, working to reach our rural and critical access hospitals. I co-lead communications for the Pediatric Prevention Network (PPN).
